And there is a smell on the breeze, Of fresh apples and raked up leaves.
A family is gathered in their front yard, Stuffing old clothes and tying off the ends, Now scarecrows sit finished, smiling new friends. Still the kids laugh, and jump in leave piles, All of them sporting sweatshirts and smiles.
The day finally turns dark, and they head inside, Filling their dinner plates with turkey and potatoes, And as they talk and eat, their happiness shows. &n
